Workforce development is a core component of the Clean Corridor Coalition (C3) project, alongside the buildout of medium- and heavy-duty vehicle charging infrastructure across the corridor. Deploying this infrastructure and keeping it operational over the long term depends on a skilled and available workforce — the electricians, technicians, and site personnel needed to install, commission, and maintain charging equipment — and the C3 project treats building that workforce as essential both to the program’s success and to extending its benefits, including quality jobs, to communities along the corridor. To that end, each of the four coalition states — New Jersey, Connecticut, Maryland, and Delaware — is conducting its own solicitation to select a vendor to carry out workforce development within its borders.
