The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), California Energy Commission (CEC), Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT), and Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) were awarded $102 million under Round 1B of the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Charging and Fueling Infrastructure (CFI) Discretionary Grant Program on August 27, 2024. The Round 1B award will support public zero-emission medium- and heavy-duty charging stations and hydrogen fueling stations along the West Coast. The map to the left highlights the corridors that will receive the zero-emission vehicle infrastructure. California will fund 16 charging stations and one hydrogen fueling station. Oregon and Washington will each fund two charging stations and one hydrogen fueling station. Each charging station will have a minimum of eight ports per station and 2.5 MW site capacity. Each hydrogen fueling station will have a minimum of two nozzles and 1,000 kg H2 /day fueling capacity.
