This study uses real-world data and simulation modeling to assess how battery-electric Class 8 trucks perform in regional-haul applications. It finds that current battery and charging configurations limit full route coverage, but with widespread charging access, full electrification is achievable. The analysis highlights the trade-offs between battery size, charging rate, and operational feasibility.
