Co-authored with NYC DCAS, this report outlines a roadmap to electrify NYC’s 29,500-vehicle fleet by 2040. It identifies that 84% of on-road vehicles (including Class 2B-8 trucks and buses) could be electrified by 2028. It also addresses infrastructure needs, operational constraints, and market readiness tiers for various vehicle types. For the remaining 16% (e.g., plow trucks, fire apparatus), interim solutions like hybrids and renewable fuels are recommended.
